We read, with great interest, the article entitled “Minimally invasive surgical approach in children treated for oesophageal atresia is associated with attention problems at school age: a prospective cohort study” by van Hal et al. [
1]. Long-term health and quality of life after surgery in patients with OA (oesophageal atresia) is a current research focus. This article assesses the attention problem of children with OA at the age of 8 years and concludes that the development of attention problems in children with OA at school age is associated with undergoing minimally invasive surgery and lower socioeconomic status. However, there are some questions about this prospective study and its derivatives that deserve to be discussed. …
