Inpatient postoperative care has undergone great advancements with the development and widespread adoption of enhanced recovery clinical pathways. The post-discharge period is the natural next frontier for quality improvement and is rich with opportunities for innovation. Addressing the challenges in patient care in the post-discharge period is increasingly important given shortened hospital stays with advances in minimally invasive techniques. Post-discharge care is particularly important for surgical oncology patients, who have a greater risk of postoperative complications leading to a 30-day readmission rate of about 13% [
